Description
Overview:
The Braillon Type VRS Grid Type Vacuum Chuck is a precision-machined aluminum workholding system designed for milling, grinding, EDM, and turning applications. A rubber sealing cord is routed through a grid of intersecting grooves to outline the perimeter of the workpiece. When connected to a vacuum pump, atmospheric pressure clamps the part firmly against the chuck surface — delivering maximum holding force with zero mechanical contact on the workpiece edges. Available in two groove pitches: 12.5 mm (Ø 3 mm cord) for complex geometries, and 25 mm (Ø 5 mm cord) for maximum clamping force on flat raw parts.

The Type VRS is the preferred workholding solution when mechanical clamps cannot be used — thin parts, delicate surfaces, complex shapes, or when all six faces of the workpiece must be accessible. Suitable for aluminum, steel, copper, brass, glass, plastic, wood, and composite materials.
